REBATESParent-Child Psychology is a registered Medicare provider. There are several Medicare initiatives that enable individuals to claim rebates for psychology services, making treatment more affordable.The Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative enables individuals to get a substantial rebate for psychological treatment of mental health conditions and patients are entitled to 10 sessions per calendar year. To be eligible, you will need a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP. As of 1 July 2024, if you have a MHCP the rebate for a session with a psychologist is $96.65, and for clinical psychologists it is $141.85. The Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan, now known as the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan, offers rebates for up to five allied health care appointments per individual each calendar year. The rebate is $60.34 per session as of July 1, 2024. To be eligible for an EPC rebate, you must meet the following criteria: Have a chronic or terminal medical condition that has been present for at least six months Require ongoing treatment from a multidisciplinary team, with at least two other medical or allied health practitioners involved in your careHave a GP Management Plan and Team Care Arrangement prepared by your GPHave a referral to allied health providers from your GP
